Equity & Access develops access pathways, equity programs, and support initiatives to enhance student retention and success, help achieve enrolment targets, and support the University’s mission and strategic direction as a Catholic institution. Within this portfolio, Pathways delivers enabling and for-credit programs that expand university entry opportunities, while Student Equity & Retention supports students from underrepresented backgrounds to undertake university study and succeed.
About the role
The School Programs Coordinator delivers high-quality service and engagement for high school partners in the University’s outreach and pathway programs. The role ensures professional, timely communication with partners and coordinates engagement to support strategic goals and widening participation for students from low socioeconomic, regional, remote, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with high school partners to support outreach and pathway program participation.
- Coordinate program offerings with internal teams (Pathways, Student Equity & Retention, Academic Innovation, VET, UNDA Schools) and external partners.
- Collaborate with Marketing and the Prospective Students Office to raise awareness and drive program uptake.
- Develop and maintain accurate program participation records for quality assurance and reporting.
- Support program delivery and engagement initiatives, including on-campus events and student ambassador activities.
- Produce high-quality promotional, informational, and communication materials for schools and students.
- Provide administrative and advisory support for school and partner committees.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- A degree with at subsequent relevant experience, or extensive experience in educational communications and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with secondary schools, educators, and community partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and create high-quality promotional and informational resources.
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in dynamic environments.
- Excellent administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and systems.
- Knowledge of the Australian education system, student support frameworks, and factors affecting student participation in higher education.
- Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
